For one thing, people should reduce the overdependence on private cars and turn to public transports, bicycles or walking with the aim to(表目的=for the sake of) lower exhaust emission(尾气排放) and improve air quality. For another, when people go shopping, they ought to be encouraged to use cloth or paper bags instead of plastic ones because the latter can hardly be decomposed in soil so that the detriment to the environment may be ever-lasting.

However, others maintain that the fast development of technology also imposes positive influences on(施加积极的影响) the building of a cleaner home. To be specific, car producers are taking advantage of advanced technology to purify and filter exhaust for the sake of reaching higher standards of environmental protection. Meanwhile, scientists are exploring alternative energy which is more eco-friendly and renewable. In addition, with the assistance of technology, rubbish sorting system has been widely applied in numerous major cities, which will reduce the consumption of natural resource through recycling.

From my own perspective, a simple lifestyle and technology do not fall into a conflict, which should go hand in hand with each other（不矛盾，相辅相成）. To illustrate（具体来说）, a simple lifestyle does not mean stopping utilizing technology, but making people rethink about how to take advantage of it in a more eco-friendly way. Meanwhile, technology can contribute to a better living space, but it cannot act as an excuse for people to abuse it. As a matter of fact, the perfect combination of both is the most desirable mode of ecological preservation.
