Q: 能讲一下 intense 和intensive的区别吗?
A: intense means something that is serious, hard, or even dramatic.
eg: "I have had a really intense day at the office! There were so many calls and problems to solve!"
or: "Wow, that movie was so intense! It was very emotional, quite violent and quite difficult to follow".
intensive : usually refers to something, nearly always a course of study or program of study, that packs a lot of content or materials into a short space of time.
eg: "I need to do an intensive English course to improve my writing. There's a course at a local language school, 6 hours a day for 10 days. It's an intensive course but will be really helpful!"
